About GPAS

Global Partners in Anesthesia and Surgery (GPAS) was formed through a collaborative effort of medical professionals and trainees from the Departments of Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Nursing, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Emergency Medicine from the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), University of Toronto, Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital, Makerere University's Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda, and numerous other hopitals and universities around the world. Through mutually beneficial partnerships with universities and other organizations in low income countries, GPAS aims to develop and implement strategies to reduce the global burden of surgical disease and to improve the quality of perioperative care in the developing world.
